Dungate Manor Welcomes the Mayor and Local Community for a Successful Open Day
Dungate Manor was delighted to welcome residents’ families, friends, members of the local community, and distinguished guests to its successful Open Day on Saturday.
The event brought together people of all ages for a day of entertainment, information and community spirit, while providing the perfect opportunity to showcase our newly refurbished home. Visitors enjoyed exploring our refreshed surroundings, meeting our dedicated team, and learning more about the high-quality, person-centred care we are proud to provide.
Among the special guests was the Mayor of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead and his wife, whose visit highlighted the importance of community connections and support for local care services.
Visitors had the opportunity to speak with a variety of local organisations, including Adopt a Grandparent, Reigate Luxury Travels, Dementia UK, and SB Physiotherapy. We are incredibly grateful to David and Lisa from Adopt a Grandparent, Alex from Reigate Luxury Travels, Janet and Gayle from Dementia UK, and Cameron Duncan from SB Physiotherapy for sharing their expertise and engaging with our visitors throughout the day.
We would also like to thank Margarita from Surrey Choices, Daisy Hevlyn, and Yohan from the Through the Eyes of a Child programme for their support. One of the highlights of the day was Daisy meeting six children who expressed an interest in joining the Through the Eyes of a Child programme. We are excited to see these meaningful intergenerational friendships develop in the months ahead.
Our residents and guests were entertained throughout the day by talented performers Tania Rodd, who provided music during the morning, and Sharon, whose Jazz and Swing performance created the perfect atmosphere to round off the afternoon.
The Open Day also featured a charity raffle in support of Dementia UK. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Space NK, A & S Florist, and Basil’s Wine Bar for their generous prize donations. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we were proud to raise £122 for Dementia UK.

Seeing six children wanting to sign up to the Through the Eyes of a Child programme was a real highlight. We know these intergenerational friendships will bring joy, companionship, and lasting memories for everyone involved. The success of the Open Day reflected the strength of the local community and the many organisations and individuals who work alongside Dungate Manor to enrich the lives of our residents. It was also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our newly refurbished home and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing a warm, welcoming, and modern environment where residents can really feel at home.
